Matthew
Pinkney is a qualified actuary at Hewitt
Associates, a multinational human resource consultancy firm, where he has
worked in the Leeds office since 2005. His job involves providing consultancy services to Trustees of
pension schemes run by a handful of large companies. The work he does includes
valuing pension liabilities, providing advice on the impact of new legislation
and advising benefit design.
Before working at Hewitt, Matthew spent a year working in a mainstream secondary school where he provided support for blind and visually-impaired students. This involved preparing learning resources in Braille and tactile form, supporting their vision during lessons and providing additional tutoring.
He graduated from Oxford University (The Queen's College) in 2005, where he achieved a double first in mathematical sciences. Before that he studied at Bradford Grammar School.

Matthew is interested in computing and has designed a number of websites and programmed various web-based systems for several companies and organisations in his spare time.
